Practice note / Setup
Establish a setup reference
A simple way to observe stance width, ball position and alignment during practice.

Start with what you can observe
A practice reference gives you something visible to compare between attempts. For setup, begin with where you stand in relation to the ball. Notice your stance width, the ball's position and the direction you intend to set up toward.
You do not need to decide what the “right” position is for every shot. Choose one position for this session, and make a note of it before changing anything.
Keep one baseline
Set down a consistent physical reference before a short series of practice attempts. If you use StanceMate, it can provide setup references for stance width, ball position and alignment. Observe the same part of your setup each time rather than judging several things at once.
After the series, ask: could you describe where you started, and did the reference stay in the same place? A written note or a photo of your setup can make the next session easier to compare.
Change one thing, then compare
If you choose to adjust your setup, change just one variable and make another short series. Compare it with your earlier baseline. The purpose is to make the change visible, not to promise a particular ball flight or score.
